Poppy Husk, commonly referred to as Posta Dana Chhal or Poppy Pod Husk, is the dried outer covering of the poppy seed (Papaver somniferum). Once the seeds are extracted, the remaining husk is collected and sun-dried. Though milder than raw opium or seeds, the husk retains trace alkaloids such as morphine and codeine, which give it mild sedative, analgesic, and antispasmodic properties.
